5 Ways to Increase Exposure with Existing Content

How do you get people to not only read but engage with your posts? Read about ways to get more traffic to your website without writing new content.

You know the content you currently have on your site can help others, if you can just increase exposure to it. You also know what you’re trying to accomplish with your business is important and can change lives.

Now for the big question. How do you get people to not only read but engage with your posts?

It’s simply a matter of helping others find your incredible content and inviting them to stay so you can develop a longer-lasting relationship with them.

Before we talk about 5 ways to increase your business’s exposure with your existing content, you’ll first want to know what you’re top 3 performing posts that are bringing traffic to your site. You do this by logging into your Google Analytics. Click on “behavior,” then “site content,” and finally “all pages.”

You’ll want to change your date range from your current view to a full year (or for as long as your blog’s been active). This will show you your biggest traffic driving posts to your site.

So, you might be asking, why do I need to know this?

Your top performing posts are the secret sauce to your business that your current audience loves. Knowing what is currently bringing you traffic will help you increase your exposure and win over new customers because your post fulfilled a need for every person who was on your page.

5 Ways to Increase Exposure with Existing Content

1. Offer A Freebie to Build Your Email List

You finally know your top 3 posts for the past year, the posts that are bringing you the most traffic to your site.

Based on these posts, what can you give to your audience that will add more value to their lives?

For example, if your top blog post is, “5 ways to help your newborn sleep through the night,” and you sell baby products, you can offer a free PDF sewing tutorial showing your audience how to make one of your products in exchange for their email address.

By offering something for free that has incredible value on your site, you’re not only building trust within your community, but you’re also creating and keeping fans who will buy from you in the future.

As a side note, if you haven’t started an email list, I highly recommend ConvertKit. They’re incredible and so easy to use. You can learn more about them here. *

2. Facebook Ads

Using Facebook Ads is a game changer in increasing exposure to the content you have and to your business.

You could easily create a Facebook ad from your Facebook Business Page for a few dollars a day to highlight your freebie, so you can grow your email list, bring readers to your top traffic driving posts, and sell your products.

If you feel overwhelmed about the idea of using Facebook ads, or if you’ve never even thought of this option for your business, Rick Mulready has some great posts on using Facebook ads to grow your business. You can find them here.

3. Using Pinterest

Pinterest can be your business’s secret weapon to increasing exposure and engagement to your business.

If you’re unsure about using Pinterest, or don’t know where to start, then you’ll definitely want to check out Melyssa Griffin‘s posts.

She is a Pinterest guru to help your business succeed on Pinterest. She will walk you through everything from setting up your Pinterest business account, using keywords to have your profile and boards be found, and so much more.

4. Invite Your Current Audience to Share (with family, friends, etc)

Use the social media leverage you currently have by asking your existing fans to share your posts with their family and friends.

If you’re worried that you don’t have a ton of engagement on your Facebook Page or with your Twitter following, that’s okay. The best way to engage readers and increase exposure is by asking a question.

For example, using the, “5 ways to make $1000 this month” post, you can ask your audience the question, “Have you found a secret sauce to making extra income? Let us know!”

So your Facebook post should look something like this:

“Have you found a secret sauce to making extra income? Let us know in the comments below and tag a friend!

Here’s what we found to work (plus, don’t forget to grab our new eBook while you’re on our site! (Link to your post).”

5. Run A Giveaway

Running a giveaway by using one of your top selling products can be a huge success to your business. Remember, by using existing content you’ve already created that you know is performing exceptionally well, you’re already done with 90% of the work.

You can invite your audience to enter to win one of your top products (related to your top performing post). Programs such as Rafflecopter or Gleam helps take out all the guesswork of running a successful giveaway. Just set everything up and you’re on your way!

As you focus on using your top performing posts to your business’s advantage by building your email list through offering a free product, using ads to target your ideal audience, inviting your current audience to share with their family and friends, and by running a successful giveaway, you’ll be able to increase exposure to your blog and business.
